The upper Madison is arguably one of the most famous rivers on the planet. Known as the 60 mile riffle, the upper Madison is a fast moving rocky river. Starting below the dam at Hebgen it runs into what we call "between the lakes section". Then on to pour out below Quake lake into the Slide Inn and Raynolds Pass area riffling its way down to the braids and Varney Bridge section before dumping into Ennis Lake. It has many options for both the wade and float fisherman and is by far the most accessible river in region.
